Dear Sister
Your letter of the tenth of the month I was glad to hear from you and to hear that you was still well as for my self I am enjoying a reasonable potion of this worlds goods and am happy to inform you that I enjoy tolerable good health we are still on the rail road and we are likely to remain on it till the expiration of the term of our service and I hope we may as I would like to put in the balance of my time on this road the duty is not so hard as it was at first

your letter did not make me angry but it vexed me in some things and about what you said about what I owed old Barr I think Father and I are about square on that as I payed a debt out in Pine Grove township for him with the money that I had calculated to pay Barr with and as for the store bill I think that I worked full enough to square that up I worked full five months for Father which I think is a sufficient compesation for a store bill of seventy five dollars and I think we are about even on that score and about that debt of Eliots I never told father to stand stand good for it / and it is not a gust debt and if Father does pay it I will never let him loose it but it should not be payed becaus it is not gust nor right tell Father that he nead not fret about them taking my my last wifes I wife last bed for if I was worth ten thousand dollars they could not tutch one cent while I remain in the army now Sister if I have ronged Father in any way I am sorry for it I was very angry with him last winter when I went home last winter for I herd that he talked verry disrespectful about my wife as he called her / names I abhor to mention in this letter to you now Sarah I did not get this from my wife for I herd it before I got home and if he is innocent I am willing to drop all and I hope he is innocent God knows I would like if you and Mary and all of the family was on good terms you told me that Jackson thought he would come out with Charlie Krotzer tell him I wish he would for I would like verry much for to see him Sister Saddie I must bring my letter to a close and I hope you will answer this soon if your sister husband writes to me I will answer it my love to your husband So I close. So good by to you
