Cousin Saddie
Your letter dated on the 11inst was duely received and was happy to hear from you again. I always love to hear from kind friends. I am corrisponding with a good many people and some that are very nigh to me. But none that feels as nigh to me as you do. and the reason is that you have taken up courage to introduce your self to me by letter and also I am highly pleased in your style of writing. you stated in your letter that you thought I did not care much about answering your letter Cousin Saddie, I think more in answering your kind letters than any others I receive.
Please tell Cousin Margaret to write to me for I would love to hear from her and also from her dear companion I wish Maggie and her companion much joy through life. I am going to send you my minature in a day or two and hope you will ever keep it in rememberance of me and I think that we will at some time meet and then we can see the originals What a glorious thing it will be when all soldiers will arive at their homes it will be a time of much joy.
I am not alluding to my self for I have been absent from home for a long time it is seven years since I first left home and in that length of time been home with my parents twice.
Cousin Saddie I would just say that you have not got a cousin that respects you more than I do although I have never saw you. But your style of writing proves to me that you are / determined by the Grace of God to make Heaven your home may God be with you through all the tryals of this world and at last in heaven save you is the prayer of your cousin. I very often think of some of my relatives that are gone astray and pray for them, that God may turn them from there wicked ways. But I can say for one that heaven will be my home. tounge can not express the feelings of joy that I have for you. may God protect your dear brothers and that at some time they may arive safe to there sweet homes. I now will close for the preasant wishing to hear from you soon. My love to you all,
J.H. Fry
