Rhoda Gillett
Rhoda Gillett was born around 1840 in Caton, New York, to John and Elizabeth Gillett. Her father was a farmer who owned $5,000 of real estate and $1,464 of personal property by 1860. She grew up and attended school in Caton. She married John Stafford around 1864, and they adopted a daughter named Jennie. They lived in Caton, and her husband worked as a farmer. Her husband died on February 10, 1903, and she successfully applied for a widow’s pension the following month. She died in Corning, New York, on January 5, 1913.
