i have reccie a letter from my farther staten that you woud like to hear the particlers of your husband i will give you the particlers off his wound and if thear is eney thing i can do foa you that about you husband afairs in the servis i i will do it with the greatest off pleashure for god know that i woud do eney thing for poor tom We have share danger to geter till he fell att the battle field off malvin hill he was struck in the back by a peace off shell while gallantley fighting att the head off his rigment mrs hatton i coud not get to him when he fell the enemey / wher trying to drive us off the field the time he fell and we had to keep them back so i coud not get to him when he fell afther the fight was over i went to look for him but i was to late to see him tha had carried him to the hospittel it was ten o clock at night when poor tom was wounded it was on the first day of July when your husband was wounded i coud not get to the hospittle i had to lay out in the battle field that night the next morning he was taken down to harrison landing thear he was sent to Washington i new that he got a dangres wound for when he fell he throw his hands to his breast he never utert a groan when he fell i have bene in three battles with him and i found him to be tru and brave / a man as ever shoulder a muket We have sleep to geter and toke care of one another the same as brothers god know i miss him mrs hatton if thear is eney thing i can do for you in you husband affairs that is his servis affairs i will do it with a tru and willing heart for thear is nothing in the world that i woud not do for poor tom mrs hatton you must not take it to hard for you husband death a tru and nobel a patriot never fell than your nobel husband if you wish to know eney thing about you husband servis affairs write to me and i will get all the information i can from the officers do not be afraid to ask for i will do eney thing that lay in my power for you
