            There has been reported to day some [?] of the enemy's Artillery across the river. I do not know the position of your left [?] but as a matter of precaution I wish you would order [?] Brigade to be under arms at daylight over the least alarm from the Pickets and have your command ready in case of alarm to act as circumstance may require.
