Dear Friend Katie
I received your letter and was happy to hear from you but was sorry that you are not as well as you was when you left Danbury. I presume you are enjoying yourself to night to the dance. if you are not feeling well you had better be careful and not get down sick you know your feelings best. you had better be careful if you are taking arsenic. It is splended sleighing now but I have not been much I spent Christmas at home / we had company. I had a young lady come to see me she was from Norwalk stayed untill Friday. last Sunday I did not go to Church I had a cousin that had been out west. she was down to granfather I went took hur home it snowed monday we went and made a call where there was Gentleman and Lady stayed all night kept watch meeting I came home in the snow Mr Eg Knapp came down to Mr Woods Monday night before Christmas stayed all night took Annie and Lucy up to Yorkstale came back and stayed untill Wednesday morning Annie likes hur school very much she sayed she had rather stay / at home. We are going to have a donation for our minister next Wednesday eve Frank sayed she should come down I wish you was going to be there I think I shal go if nothing happens and I can find 2 or 3 cents about my old clothes I saw Mr Backus yesterday he is natural as life he has got work now. I have had a cold and have got a soar throat to night Father has been down with a cold since Sunday Miss Carrie Bates has got married she was married last Thursday night it was a very cold night it snowed and the wind blew very hard she did not give me an invite I think she is smart she has got to / bee a weed. It is getting to be time for me to stop riting for I have got to go to the Depo to night I did not get home very early I could rite more but I dont think you will want to read any more sutch nonsense you must excuse me for riting this with a pencil I must close and go to the office
