And here let me say of our officers. I should be loth to part with any of them Capt. Bolster 1st Lieut Lapham 2d L. A. Boster Orderly James Barrows To all of them I am more or less indebted for favors granted me. And I have hardly ever been refused any request prefered. I am particularly indebted to Lieut Lapham and Orderly Barrows for easy and comfortable chanses on guard and fatigue duty and that too without any request / of mine. Finally when I look back and see how highly I have been favored, and how much better I fare than I expected, I cannot help feeling thankful and I feel it is unjust to doubt an overruling Providence for the future.

During the cessation in drill I have been mending up my clothes and overhauling them generally Yours of the mailed the 26 reached me Tuesday night and last night I got one from All Storer. Tomorrow I shall look for another from / you and some others perhaps.

Albert is in good spirits and talks as though he liked well. He gave rather a laughable account of Alfred Mitchells speculations in a matrimonial way—a real good thing—one of All's good hits.

When warm weather comes I think I shall send home some of my clothing. It will lighten my pack, and I shall not have it to take care of

You spoke, sometime since, of geting money of Uncle Joe to pay up the debt.

But as you have not mentioned it lately I suppose if nothing happens, I think we can get along without it / you know what our expenses will be, you know I shall want some clothes when I come home, but I shall not get any thing expensive.

I wish you would make an estimate of what you think our expenses will be to the time when I shall come in cash expenses—allow a liberal margin and see what you think we can pay up. Then I hope to clear it all up by next fall.

            But I will close.

Onley keep your courage up as well as I do mine and we shall come through finely. Those papers were very welcom My love to mother and respects to all Write as often as convenient
