Marion Camp December the 8 1861
My Dear wife I avail this opportunity of writting you a few lines to in form you that I am well at present and so glad to hear that you were all well at home I received your letter yesterday and it afforded me grate comfort by hearing you were all well and James getting so fat and George so smart. May they continew to doo so tel I come home. Take the best care of your self and my little ones Tel Mother Houdy for me when she comes and all the rest of the family for me and tel her she must doo all she can for you and my poor little ones for me I hope that god will take care of you all at home as well as hear I put my trust in him intirely for our safty and I hope the war will be over be fore enny of ous expect it Tel Anney to write me letters when ever she can her letter pleas me very much to think she wrote to me Tel James to write to to me and come and see me they aint no danger of coming hear at all I went to church to day and heard a good sermont preach A good man I think one of our Brother Soldiers too May god bless you all
My prayr shal ever extend to heaven in your and children be half take care of grub and the corn and you self for me your loving one you must write to me as often as you can Letters will come hear purty soon I have sent too or three to you and only got 2 from you I will wear yours out a looking at it if Mother brings your likness down when she comes you must send it by the first safe chance you see for me I dont now when I can come home I will come when my time is out at the adjorndment of the legislater ten days after we will come home a while then enny how Moris is well and satisfied Send houdy to Abe and his family. I am at a loss to no what to write to you at this time My horse is getting fat now as fast as he can we get a nuff corn and as much fodder as they can eat and make a bed for them too I am Comesary now I am clear from all duty now drilling or eny thing like that now I went out one time on picket sence I come hear but I am clear of that now thank god for it too i remain your Loving Husband untel Death Henry H Hill write write My Dear to me
