My Dear wife I just drop you a few lines to in form you that they went some 30 or 40 men from hear yesterday to a island and taken 30 od negrows of and brot them there was eight yankeys there they left you must not bee uneasy about me for I wont vonunteer to go in none of there frolick for I want to take care of my self on the account of my sweat Darling Wife and children that loves me so well and I love them so good dont beleave ever thing you hear about the enemy for we hear lies ever day hear and I dont be leave that there is much danger in them no how or they would of made more speed than they have hear they could of taken this place long ago if they would have it they aint enny thing hear for them and they no it for if they just would start towards us we would leave migty quick dont beleave ever thing the old man tell you for he is scard enny how about nothing Take care of your self and children for me. I remain your Loving Husband untel Death
