My Dear Wife After my best respects to you and my little ones I drop you a few lines to in form you that I am well at present and hope that these few lines may fine my darling ones well I feel uneasy about you all the time doo take care of your self and children for your darlings sake I will come home the first chance I get I dont now when it will be thou there has givin furlows now but I dont now when my time will come for poor me to see my dear ones at home but I will put my trust in god to take care of your darling and my dear ones at home I hope the war will soon end and I permitted to live in peace once more at home with my dear ones I send 20 dollars by Jas to you I cant get it changed here at all Tel Pah little boys houdy for Pah and kiss them for him Tel them / Pah has got 2 purty new hats for them they aint done yet I did not no James was going home so soon I would of had them done to of sent by him but Pah will bring them when he comes home Tel them they must be purty boys tel Pah comes home my Dear wife you must not fret about me I will take good care of my self for your sake and my dear little ones, and you must doo the same for my sake. I will pray for you and them and you must do me the same my hart cant express my feeling for my dear ones tak care of your self I will come the first chance I get May god bless my house hole and family is the prayr of your affectionate Husband untel Death
and may god receive us in heaven when parting will be no more HHHill
