Dear wife after my best respects to you and children I drop you a few lines wich I hope that these few lines may find you all well as it leaves me quite well I have been sick but I am well again thank god for for it I am glad to hear that old Cuff came back again for I was so oneasy about my dear wife that I coultd not sleep hardly for it Dear you must take good care of your self for the love that I have for you and Pahs little darling boys he dose want to see them and my dear wife so bad my tong can not express the love that I have for my dear ones at home I thought I would of been there be four now but I dont much think I will get off be fore the first of Jany they will give furlougs Capt said he will let me come home as soon as he gets back from home I look for him the last of this week but dont / be too shure of my coming I will come the first chance I can get I could get of for 24 ours but I want longer time to stay with my dear ones Try and get Hester if you can but keep it a secret from Mah and the rest of the people I will try and do the best I can the wills is come back to this company and join it Miles Dodd will join in 2 weeks from now we will have a good Company now Adam trys to cook in with me again John Jaques curst him about his food and it hope him a little Tel all the best houdy for me Take good care of your self and children for Pah he dose want to see them all so bad tel I dont now what to doo about it I must close Pray for your Darling one I will do the same for you I remain your Loving Husband untel Death H Hill good nite
