Count              Dear wife after my best love to you and little ones I seat my self to drop you a few lines wich itrust may find you all well as it leave me well at present. We are expecting a fite purty soon we are making every preperation for it that can be made throwing up brest works every way iam on picket this week to river side there aint much danger there i dont think you must not be oneasy about me iwill take the best care of my self i can I dont think the yankeys will land hear at all they make out so but there aint much danger in them i dont think you just get Moris to uncover the stubble cain so it can come up / it is time now write me a letter soon as you get this iwant to hear from home so bad iwas so much disapointed by moris not coming down tuesday ilook for a letter do my sweet one take care of your darling self for me and Pahs little ones he loves you all so well that he dont now what to doo if the war last much longer iwill go crasy about home ireckon but god nows all things ihope he will take care of my dear family at home for me is the prayr of your loving husband untel death there is ten grains of calomel for you must take it and take care of your self for me
