Camp Morgan April the 5/63
Dear wife After my best love to you and children I seat my self this loving evening to address you with a few lines wich I trust may find you and children well at present it leaves me fat as common but my mind is very much trubble about home I cant get a letter from you it dont seem like you write to me as often as you aught so iwill send you some stamps that you will have no excuse to write to me the letter that you wrote was dated the 23 and I got it the 1 of April it is to long a time to hear from home Do my dear write oftenner than you doo so I can hear from home My Dear Sweet one you must not make your self so oneasy about me the yankey have all left Auter Island and gone back to Hilton Head There aint enny thing new in camp now onlly they dont give furlows yet I will try and get off soon as I can to come home if it aint but 24 ours I think the war will have to end soon the papers still stick out for reckoniseing ous that is france is I think it will end be fore long but we wont now it tel it comes Dear wife I will tire you with so manny long letters but that is the kind I like to get from my sweet one at home So you must write me long letters and often Tel Pahs sweet little boys houdy for him and kiss them for poor Pah My hart is to full to rite long /
Dear wife you must write me more as soon as you get this and let me hear the news we will have to give Fewox some money just give him what you think we can spair it look like it will be a long time be fore we get our money we will soon have to payment due ous I wish it was now hear to pay now the pay roll is reddy but the money aint come yet Dear wife you must rite me all the news about the mare and the cows and the sugar cain and the potatoes and the goats and hogs and barn I would like to get a letter from Bruse now or eny one else Tel Dave he would not rote to me if he had not buisness for me to attend to I wish he would write some times to me and let me hear the news Tel James Pah will make him a purty pair of shoes and bring when he comes with red round them Pah is so oneasy about him being sick and Pah cant get home to see him May god bless you all is the prayr of your loving husband untel Death write soon my dear May god take care of my sweet ones at home and spair their lives and mine that we may see the end of this war sheild you from all harm is the prayr of your loved one
