Camp Morgan Friday April 17
 
Dear wife I will drop you a few lines now hopping they may find you all well as it leaves me up but very uneasy at this time thou I am duing duty I dont think I can get off to come Sunday to Church then my hart will be with you do my dear take care of your self for me I received your letter yesterday and was glad to hear from home There aint eny thing new in camp now we have some very interesting prayr meetings every nite and I all ways remember my sweet ones at home Dear wife I wont write much this time I wrote wednesday but did not send it so I write a few lines more this morning 
 
Dear wife rite me word wether you get that Miss Canty or not and if you dont get her I will write to Ben Stokes and get him to get some sort of a negrow to stay with dont do enny thing to make you sick for I am in trubel anuff all reddy about my sweet ones at home some time i cant contain my self hardly at all write soon let me hear all the news May god bless my sweet ones at home is the prayr of your darling one Pray for me my dear one O that the time may soon come that we may meet at home in peace is the prayr of your darling Husband untel death
