Dear wife after my best love to you I adress you with a few lines wich I trust may find you all well as it leaves me well at this time Dear wife you must not be oneasy about our Company going off we have been building stalls for the last 4 days out of plank and scantle they would not be fixing ous so good if they had no use for ous hear. they caried one Company to mount Plesent so they aint but 3 Company in town now Dear one you must take care of your self and children for me. we have won grate victory in vicks burg and outher places / we whipt the yankeys out clear they acknollegge it them selves Loncolon has order out 5 hundred thousand men to be drafted and they will rebell against it so it will caus peace I hope soon my Dear one I am so tired that I cant half write I have been working on the stalls for 4 days driving nails Dear wife you must excuse this letter I will send one that I hope will pleas you every thing is so hie that we cant get eny thing to eat only our rations wich is hard but I am getting use to it I feel that I cant suffer too much for my good May god bless my dear ones at home and provide some way for them and keep you from all harm is the prayr of your Loving Husband untel Death HHHill
