Camp Suber James Island
Sept the Monday /63
My dear wife this will in form you that I am quite sick thou better than I was I was taken Saturday with fever and has not be able to be out of bed since thou the fever has gone off of me now and the fisicks has work me well I am taken quinine now and it is a nuff to kill a horse And all my apple gone John Addams will beg avry thing away that you have and give it to the officers he put me in mind of old Andrew Do if James comes down soon try and get me a small box to put my things in / for they are expose to all the rogue in camp there is plenty of troops coming from Virginia on this Island I got a letter from oncle John they are all up My Dear you must not make your self oneasy about me if I get worse I will let you now I think I will be up in a few days more May god be with you all is the prayr of your Loving Husband untel Death
