My Dear wife This will in form you that I still have the fever every day and I recken iwill have it as long as we stay on this island they speak of mooving ous and putting ous all a long the coast to pacotalligo and I hope they will this Island is anuff to kill every boddy on it. the men from Va say they rather go back to virginia than to stay on this Island, they dont like the water here. Every thing is still quiet here no much moovement of the enemy now. I do wish from the bottom of my hart that peace could be made so that I could be with my sweet ones at home What a comfort it would be to me and what ease it would give me just to have my darlings sweet little hand to press my acheing hed when / the fever is hie on me oh when will that time come but my dear I would not see you here for nothing god is my comforter here and may he ever be with ous to the last I have that pain a cross my sinus very bad and pains in my bowels and not clear of the head ache since the reckly after James left here My toung is verry belious I am taken blew pill to day you must not be oneasy about me I will do the best I can for my self I have no appitite for eny thing that we have to eat hear at all I try to eat some thing every hour it is a bad place for the sick hear but i have a good house here I have not got a letter since James come down doo rite all the news I rote monday Tel all houddy for me if Moris comes down soon doo send me some more apples if you can get them and figs May god be with you is the prayr of your Loving Husband untel Death Henry.
