Mrs. L. E. Hill
My dear wife after my best Rest pects to you and little ones I drop you a few lines wich i hope may find you all well. I am better though not well I have the worst cold and coff in the world there aint eny thing new in camp the yankeys is shelling town all the time at nite nearly the Dr is triing to get our Company off to recruit but I dont now wether he will or not I hope he will so we can come home I want to see my dear wife and little ones so bad I dont now what to do James Ackerman said if he can get 2 cirtificate I shal have one he would of got it the outher day but he was not able to ride he said My dear I trust i may get home soon oh how I want to see you all again.
My dear you must take care of your self and little ones dont let them catch fire and get burnt now your self either take care of fire My horse looks fine now only so much bad withers on him My dear you never rote me word wether the coalt was with it mother or not I want you to give it a good chance and keep him fat and make a horse out of him My dear I aint got a letter from you in some time tel this morning I got one from you after so long a time rite me word and let me now all the news at home We aint eny thing new hear worth ritting to you My dear I must close May the Lord be with you and keep you from all harm and spair their lives
