My dear wife
I avail my self of this opportunity of writing you a few lines wich i hope may find you all well and doing better My dear I am well though i have nothing worth writing news we have none only hard times a plenty Bull and gust, only my dear i hope to get a letter from you soon. i am tired of looking for a letter from you i think you mite write oftener if you would doo it. My dear Luvenia oh how i want to see you and them little ones so bad, i dont know when i will get off to come home I hope i will get off soon Rayson will be in command to morrow and i will send up my pass to morrow. it may take 2 or 3 days to come back then and mabe disapproved if General Hagood was in command i would be all write but Col Graham is in command. I hope i will hear from you soon
Mrs Hill you will please try and get the lether for me and do the best you can I will do all i can to get off as soon as posible times is very hard yet i have a whole ham and a good peace yet My dear you better take care of all you got Let me know if there is eny danger of your getting eny corn from Risher or not i hope the Lord may help ous threw this ougly war and end it soon. May the lord bless my litle ones at home and give them bred to eat and spair their lives and my sweet loving wife to tel it is over My dear write soon i wrote a long letter by Mr Jaques I hope you get that one too. Tell Anny houdy and all. nothing more as i have nothing that will interest you Pray for poor me
