My dear wife
I hope this may reach you in due time and find you all well I am well at present we are under marching orders but we don't know where we will go if eny way yet, but we will know in a few days more all furlows is stoped, if we go eny way we will have our horses shod wich will take 2 weeks to doo that But my dear if we go I don't want you to shed a tear I think if we evin go that we wont stay long the war will soon end now I think. but my dear one dont dont fret but put on all the courage that you can you know that I love you and you must try to take care of your self and little ones for me, and don't fret and you will please me /
My dear you must not be oneasy about me. I dont think we will fare eny worse than we doo now I hope that we will fare as well eny where els as we doo here I will write every day til I know wether we will go or not, and you must not come here if we go if I get a chance i will come home but dont shed a tear, I am satisfied if I node you would not be oneasy about Lord help me and you and little ones
I will write soon and often Mind what I tel you dont be oneasy a bout me
nothing more
but I remain
