I think the war will certainly end this summer Eny how we cant fite much longer than this year for the cars is all worn out so they cant cary eny thing know We cant get corn for the want of transportation. My Dear I sent to Ben Stokes to know if he would not let you have a negrow of some sort to help you and he sent me word that he would let me have one at the same as he had to give for it or if he sent one of his own that we would not fall out with the price you must let me know when he sends her and what sort of a one it is Let me know all the news at home, and dont fret for me I will do the best I can all dangers aint death. I dont mind going at all I hope I may get home a week or so be fore I go Eny how I would rather not go if I could help it but I may like it better out there than hear.

My Dear you must not be oneasy about me I will be in the hands of God out there as well as hear and dont grieve nor shed a tear for me I will try to be a good boy, and live for the Lord. you must try and do the same my dear wife and take care of your sweet self and them dear little ones, wich is so near to me.
