My Dear Wife and little ones I take the pleasure of droping you a few lines wich i hope may find you all well i am well only tired of traviling so slow we started on the eight and only got to summerville the first day and to Roses station to day My dear I will be certin to come home from Collumbia My dear Wife i trust that you may not be oneasy a bout me i am very well satisfied. I dont mind going out to virginia only on your account
My dear wife you must take care of your sweet self and little ones for me if you will make your self satisfied and take care of your self and little ones and you will please me very much, and not shed a tear for me /
My dear we will stay to morrow nite at Branchville. We will get to Collumbia on the 14 we had a very bad nite last in the rain and all our things wet. I have sent 2 boxes to ridgeville by Elick he will cary them to his house and when Mah goes on the river she can cary them home for you there is 2 sides of lether in box be longs to Willis. i have sent all my close except 2 suits out and vest and an new flanel shirt
My sweet one you must take care of your self and children and dont fret for me I will write every chance i can get to doo it and you can write to me in the 120 to Collumbia and i will get it you can send by [?] W B Hill and save postage Whatever you doo you must not fret for me I will take care of my self the best I can. My dear wife dont shed a tear for me but act bravely for my sake I could not stand it if i new you would fret your self to make me miserable i can stand it very well if you will not fret for me you must pray for me I remain your loving Husband untel Death, H.
