My dear Wife I hope this may find you all well I am well and in very good spirits. My dear wife I hope this will find you better satisfied i reach the Regt last nite, 16 miles from Collumbia I did not get Rishers horse, i hunted that morning til 2 oclock when i left Roysons Bridge i stade 4 miles past Branchville with W Dukes he treated me very kind indeed My dear wife i hope you you may not be oneasy about me i will do the best i can I hope the lord will be with me. My dear we just got hear, it is a beautifully place hear we can look at the big state house and every thing that is nice We will get our furlows next week or the last of this week /
My dear wife you must take care of your sweet self My dear wife I hope you may take good care of your self and little ones. I dont mind going so bad now i am getting uste to it now Doo my sweet one dont fret for me. Remember that it is a gainst your darling wishes for you to shed one tear about me I know that the lord is with me hear as wel as at home. I know that you can make your self satisfied if you will do it. I hope the lord may ever be with you all my dear wife may the lord bless you all keep you from all harm I will write to you ever chance i get Remember me in your prayers and i will do the same. nothing more at this time I remain your loving Husband untel Death H.
