My Dear Wife this will inform you that I am well and hope this will reach you in due time and find you all well I have nothing new to write at present as i have just rote this yesterday and i have nothing new to rite at all it is raining and very cold too. We are expecting snow now. My dear i cant compose my mine this eaving i feel like a crasy man more than eny thing els i can compare my self to. I have not herd from home sence the 7 and this is the 28 i am sertin some of my little ones is ded or something els i cant tell what. I cant hear eny thing from home nor no way els. it seems like i am forsaken by all my friends, but i hope i will never be forsaken by my dear ones. if i cant hear from you my dear, i hope you will pray for me. I wish that i could get off to my self this eaving to cry but i am hampered up with so many a round me of all sorts But I can pray to god that is all / I can doo. but my dear i hope you will not let this truble you at all I will do the best i can, and trust in god for the rest. We fare very hard hear but i hope I will stand the storm and may it not be long. Sometimes i think Mclenoln is elected by no news at all from the North. I wish I could just see home once more and my sweet ones I would feel like i was in heven all moste Oh may the time soon come when we will meet at home in peace I hope none of my little ones is ded. oh may i meet them home when I ever get there My dear Tell all houdy for me Dave Family and Sister Marys & Mahs too tel Caty I will rite to her I got one from Jas May the lord bless you my dear ones and keep you from all harm take care of your self and little ones Nothing more but I remain your Loving husband untel Death H.H.Hill
