My dear Wife I drop you afew lines this morning wich i hope will find you all well i am well but so badly disappointed that i cant hardly live I had made arrangements to trade my horse right hear for one and not cost me a cent But i failed and did not get him condemned. the first Board condemned him and in a few days the Board met a gain and my horse has mended so fast that they would not condemed him at all My Lord I cant express my feelings this morning. Oh shal i ever see my little ones and my sweet wife. But i will try mine a gain in a few weeks more and if i dont get my horse condemned I sertinly will get a furlough next for all the Co has had ther horses condemned except mine he looks so well i am a fraid i will / never get home on him
 
We get plenty to feed on and he is mending like a pig My dear i will put my trust in god and wate his will. My dear you must not fret a bout it mabee i will get home soon eny how i will work every plan that I can to get off home soon Ackermans mare was condemned Tel Mah to hold on to a horse for me i will ceep trying untel i can get a furlough to come home on My dear wife I have sent a brush and comb by Allen I got the things you sent by Lt Rayson and Risher all so got a large box full of good things and I am in a mess with him and we will live hie Risher will be home soon on detail Oh may mi time soon come to get home oh my feelings i cant express 8 long months sence and mabee 8 more but god grant that peace may soon be made on some terms and let me get home again in peace
