Henry H. Hill to Luvenia Hill, undated
Oh how can i sing the songs of Zion in a strange land, with no comfort at all only truble at nite i cant sleep for thinking on the past, what blessings god has bless me with and i care so little for it, not a nuff to thank him for it But know i can like the Prodigal son look back to my fathers house and lift my eys to heven and there is comfort for me. I feel that I have one that simpathises with me but i am so far a way and cant hear whether you are ded or not untel it is all truble my grace / is not sufficient to stand up under my conflicts here be low But my dear help me to pray to that god that giveth to all men that asketh wisdom of him and abbideth now Kiss Pahs little boys for him May heven bless my dear wife and little ones and give them grace sufficient to stand all the truble they may have to encounter with while travling throught the world be low and save them at lass in heven is the prayer of your Loving Husband untel Death
