Mr Cornelius Bell
Der friend I again seat myself to wright you a fiew lines. My health has improved very much for the last fiew days. Hall's Balsam is a good medison at least it has helped me very much. I never had a calf to hert me as bad as the last in all of my life. I recieved a letter from John a day or two a go. I hope he will continue to wright as he has commenced at short notice I halve made two rings and one brestpin. The Brestpin is the nisest thing I ever saw made off gutapertia buton and shell two half moons & a pitchfork I send in this a ring for Mother the first I evry ever made I halve got one for Catherine a very nice one I will send it whenever I hear you git this one for Mother. I halve one for a little girl in the neighborhood I am going to send it to her in a fiew days if her Father rights soon when she gits it I want you to see it. A prisoner her made a watch fob that he has bin ofered fifty Dollers for in Confederate money. I am or soon will be kneding some money I would be glad iff you would send me a fiew Dollers. owing to my helth I half to hiar my washing done and I want to continue the use off Hall's Balsom. The last letter I got from you done me a heep of good the winding up of it the boys ar all in good helth. The prisoners at this plase are tolerably well R. E. Mayes is well I will bring my letter to a close by asking you to send me some money if you pleas I hope these lines will find you and yore famuley and all of my friends well wright soon
