Manoah F. Stone Furlough, 3 December 1861
To all whom it may concern
The bearer hereof M. F. Stone a private of Captain John Thompson's Company 3rd Regiment of Texas Cavalry aged forty four years five feet high a fair complexion blue eyes dark hair, and by profession a farmer born in the County of Grayson in the State of Virginia on the 17th day of November 1818 and enlisted at Quitman in the County of Wood and State of Texas on the 19th day of September 1861 to serve for a period of one year is hereby permitted to go to Rusk County in the State of Texas he having received a furlough from the 3rd day of December 1861 to the 1st day of March 1862 at which period he will rejoin his company wherever it may then be or be considered a deserter
 
Given under my hand at Camp Ector in Upshur County Texas, this 3rd day of December A.D. 1861.
