Sir
The Col commanding wishes me to say that as Col Ford's regiment is to be mustered into the service of the Confederate States, that you will send immediately one Lieutenant and twenty men to Fort Inge and relieve Lieut Good, who upon being relieved will take the shortest route to Fort Mason and their join his company with as little delay as possible. If the Company to which Lieut Good belongs has not reached Fort Mason upon his arrival, he will await there its arrival

Very Respectfully
W. T. Mechling
