Dear Brother Sisters & Mother
I have not received any letters from home for some time and Ive been moving about for some time Seence I las wrote to you we have made quite a change in affairs in this Department The Army now is on the march to Tenn The advance is above Dalton cutting the rail road as they go and will obstruct the tunnell so that it cant be repaird for some time if not blow it up we are west of Roam had a considerable fight yesterday but loss very slight our Army / I think will eventualy stop at Decatter I think after going to Chattanooga and likely to Murfreysburough Nashville Columbia or some one those places it is not known yet when we will stop I will write as things develope [?] I am in hopes that we will be able to drive them from Tenn and hold them there I want you to write oftener than you do Kate spoke of making me some cloths I need som but I dont you to put your selvs to any unnessary truble to get them I want a jacket or round abott & pr pants & socks but I can make out Boots I / need a pr I wote to you the last letter I spoke abot John I would like to have him to cook and forage for me If you think that best I think he will be safe if you have any chance to send him Gen Beauregard is in comd of this Army now has just taken comd. I want you all to get in the notion of leaving East Tenn and going to Texas when an oppertunity offers and leave that Union whole What has become of Tom Roddy The Ragan Lizzie Rodder Hellen Graham & all Is Miss Mollie & Ellen Taylor maried yet & all the girls Does Dix Alexander live at his old place yet I have nothing more to write my love / to all remember me to all of my good friends I will write again some of these days did the yanks destroy my grain or have you got it yet the part I lef them
