Camp Marshall November 18th 1864
 
Dear Sister Your very kind and wellcomb letter of the 7th came to hand yesterday and found me in very good health I have no news of much importance to communicate to you they have been looking for an attack upon this place for some time but I think it is all [?] I am very ancious to hear the result of the presidential allection I hope that McClellan will be allectid iff he is I think peace will be the result so far as I have heard he carried a very large majority I have had no news from Gen Lee Army for sevral days I believe it is a matter of imposibility to hear any thing from Gen Hoods Army You can tell Papa that I have no idea of when I shall get home for they have stoped all furloughs except sick furloughs you spoke of having made 25$ in a very few days I have made 300$ in the corse of 15 I wood like to send some of it home I sent ten dollars in my last letter / you never said any thing in your letter you must send some socks by Jennings Archer hayne has returned yet from home and I wore
 
my pen is bad that I can not write with it as I started to say that I thought it would be here be fore he did Tell Papa that I have no idea of when I get home I we have just built a very snug house for winter you must write me word where you all expect to live next year well I must bring this to close write soon and write all of the news give my compliments to all of family Yours Truly
