I received a letter from from you about three weeks ago I feel sory I did not answer it before now but sometimes we cant get the chance of writing it is hard for us to get paper and ink sometimes I was vary proud to get an answer from you you talk to my notion more so than any girl that ever wrote to me I am in hops if you cant find a girl to suit me you will wait for me yourself as I think as much of you as any one I am a fraid I will come out mising if I do not comence in time you said it would be rather long to wait until the war is over to get to your weding I think you can wait until I can get a ferlow we are looking for a fight here evry day I think we will get at it in a few days they say the yankees have a vary strong force I herd to day they had got two companies of our men prisners. / I do not know whether it is so or not our camp is about five miles below Richmond we came here day before yesterday from Druriesbluff Some think we will get into a fight here Some think we will not have a hard time here we have to go through so much hardship the most of us have to do all our cooking we get a plenty to eat now as much as we can say grace over it may get wors yet there is so many solders in this state The weather is geting vary warm here now it would bee hard to get into a fight now the most of our men appear to bee in good spirit there is some five sick in co. there is some four or five in the hospital I have been out nearly two years and have had but vary little sickness yet I have no news of importance to write I have not got a letter from North carolina in two months you must write to me again when you get this you are vary good on a letter and it is a great satisfaction to any of us to get a letter Yours Truly M. Direct your letter to Richmond Va. 35 Regt Co. C. Ransoms brigade we are looking for hard marching this summer I do not know whether we will have much of it to do or not yet
