December the 1 day 1864
Dear Sister I take my pen in hand to drop you a few lins to inform that I am well at this time and truly hope when these few lins come to your hands they may find you and your children all well and well I have no news of importance to write at this time only I would be glad to see you all one time more I recivd your kind and loving leter which came to hand this morning which gave me great satisfaction to her from you / and was truly glad to hear that you was well if you can get some stamps I would be glad if you would send me some stamps and thred and needle if you can send a coarse needle tell your little boy to be a good boy and go to school and learn his book I can tell you that Mr Camp and Mr Sipes is here tell Mr Sipes family he is well
