Nancy C. Bell (maiden name: Robinson) was born around 1834 in Alabama. She married John W. Bell in Clarke County, Alabama, on October 20, 1851, and they had at least six children: Emma, born around 1853; Minnie, born around 1854; Clara, born around 1856; Anna, born around 1859; Dixie, born around 1860; and John, born around 1863. Her husband enlisted in the Confederate army in April 1862 and died two years later, on February 14, 1864. She remained in Clarke County after her husband’s death, and by 1870, she owned $300 of real estate and $200 of personal property. She died sometime after 1880.
