My Dear Son
                                    I have had a long and weary wate and distine to wate still longer for a letter from you have you forgoten your poor Mother or what keep you from writing to me I am vary anxious a bout you and wish you would let me hear from you as soon as possible how you are and how you get a long and where you are stationn so that I can write to you often I heard from Bell last Sunday through her sister she is still in Providence and quite well she says has writen a great manny times to us all hear but we have not got received any of them so I gess she must to have dream that she wrote to me your Sis Sister is quite well and send her love to you her husband also 
 
I had a letter from your brother Henry a short time a go he was quite well at that time and wish you to write to him but I could not tell where at that time so I wrote him to that effect Jacop will you not write to us all thare is but the four of us left so I think we might all be happy and that is so asay now if you will let us hear from you evry month as Henry does evry two weeks I should be so happy I am a going to live with Lucy Jane her husband says that shall al ways have home with them as long as live and I am know a bout to take it When you write to me you can send you letter to to the Bull head Hotel Now do write soon and do not for get to put your trust in the lord the ruler of all

My Dear Jacop
It is indeed a long time since I heard from or seen you and what had become of you but was some what suprise to hear that you ware in New Orleans my old home. how do you like it there do you not think it a a vary beautiful place how I should to step down and see you with the rest of my friends of which I have many vary warm ones there you know I have but a few moments to spare as it is Ester Sunday and I want to go to church I will tell you a pease of vary good nuse and that is Lucy and myself are bouth members of the church now are you not glad to hear it and I hope that to are trying to follow the meek and holly Jesus what a blessing it will be to you it will help you in all things to live and die with and fullfil your evry duty / I must now come to a close should you meat any one that is acquaint with me please give my love to them and tell them that am well hope they are the same
 
I have been vary unfornate since seen you I have lost my Father and two sisters and many others that were near and dear to me but such we must look for in this world When you write to your Mother you must drop me a few lines also from your friend and well wisher Ellen
