Dear parents I thought I would write you a few lines to let know that I am well and hope to find you the same I suppose it is prety cold there now there has not been any snow here at all it has prety cold some of the time I signed the payroll two weeks ago and have not got payed yet I dont think I shall get payed of till after next muster that will be the last of this month I shall get four months pay then. I will send some home then I want you to send me a box / you can send me some butter and cheese eggs some chestnut and candy & & &
