Dear parents I thought I write a few lines to let you how I be I am in the hospital at hampton I have got a cough and I am week in my legs I aint sick so you must not worry about me. I have got a good bed and have plenty to eat there is 8 or 10 boys out of my company in the hospital here. I want you write to me wether you have sent that box and write what you put in to it I shall get back to the company as soon as i can I want you to send me 5 dollars if you have got it to spair When you write dont put the company or reg if you do i shant get it. When you write direct hampton hospital fort monroe Va /
 
there was 3 boys just come back from a furlow of 15 days one lived new england Villiage I weighed my self the other day and I weighed 105 We got a first rate doctor he is full of his jokes I dont think of any thing else to write just now. dont forget Write as soon as you get this because i need the money
