Dear mother I thought I would write you a few lines to let you know that I am well and hope this will find you the same. I got that letter that you wrote to frank this morning with the money in it. I dont want you to send the box till I write a gain because the Lieut got an order to get the co to geather and report to Petersburg to be musterd out of the surviss. I hope it is so. We have built our winter quarters and expected to stay here all winter but I think I be at home before long I hope so We have got first rate winter quarters here they are made of logs and a good fire place in it. /
I suppose boot buisness is prety good there now. the farmmers here are harvesting now they say that they aint goin to have much this year. each one has from 200 to 500 bushels of corn. they say that ant much. they dont any tobacco here now. there was a piece in the paper yesterday stateing that all the cavelres on the east side of the Missippy are to be musterd out immediately. all the boys talk about is home. I do not think of any thing els to write. So good by
