Dear parents I receive your letter and was glad to here from you but was sorry to here the death of Mr cadwell. I am geting along first rate. I got that 5 dollars you sent me and was glad to get it it was 17 days coming I thought it was lost but it come at last and I should like a little more if you have got it to spair for new year they are a goin to have roast pig and turkey and mince pies for crismas. I have not had but letter from frank since I have been here he was at old point comfort. it is prety cold out here ther has not been snow here yet / I supose you have good sleighing there now I have got a sanitary Commission comb that I will send to henry for a new years present I want you should me one you can send a little cigar box full of stuff. the docttor has been through to see us. he asked me how i felt I told him my legs were rather week he told I had better exercise a little more there is again be a concert here to night. gen butler wife is a goin to be here.
I wish you tell the boys to write to me and I will answer them I want you to send some more postage stamps
