Edward Everett to David Wills, 9 November 1863
Boston 9 Nov. 1863.
My dear Sir,
I have received a letter from Mr Bent, written at your request, containing information relative to the routes to Gettysburg, & kindly offering to aid me in getting there.
It appears that the only way, in which I can make sure of getting to Gettysburg in season, on Tuesday the 17th, will be to take the train on the
S. M. Felton Esqr /
Penn C. R.R. which leaves Philada at 7.45 A.M. This I will accordingly do, & I shall be exceedingly indebted to you, if you will interest yourself with the President of that road, to insure my being forwarded without delay from Harrisburg & Hanover junction.
With great regard very truly
Your,
Edward Everett.
