Frederick Tate to Samuel B. Davis, 20 March 1865
San Antonio March 20th 65.

Capt Saml Boyer Davis
AAG &c,

My Dear Sir
Allow me to introduce to you my friend Mr W A Menger of this City & to ask as a favor to my self that you will aid him in the accomplishment of his object—

He desires a detail which has been applied for by Maj Keyworth & the papers forwarded to your office.

The certificates accompanying the application afford abundant evidence of Mr Ms inability to do service in the field. Will you be pleased to interest yourself in his behalf? Any aid you may give him will confer a favor upon me—Be pleased to remember me to Genl P. O. Hebert when you see him—

very Truly
Yours &c
Fred Tate
