Dear Brother
I beg you will not be angry with me for my having delayed so long in writing to you, for my opportunitys for writing are very limited as you well know, how it is with the Factory operations My health is good at present Melvina is here with me she to is well I heard from home yesterday by the way of Joseph & Paul they left home Thursday went to Portland after employ but did not find any so they came over here yesterday and last eve they called on us. Paul left at the ringing of the nine o'clock bell but Joseph spent a greater part of the night The folks are all well at home and that was the most news they had to tell. Joseph has given up going / West this spring. he is going away soon, but I think he will not go farther than Boston. the fact is Darl he cant leave Mary Jane, dont you think that is funy I reckon when the old woman finds it out, he will be obliged to leave for she is down on the Chadbourn boys I think by the way you write about the Southern Ladies, that Lizzie will pick herself up in the back ground, I think you had better be carful. I should like to see some of those young ladies that you have captivated, but I think it will turn out as it did last fall, when I thought you was going to bring a lady with you. By the way how does Jimmie prosper, has he recovered his spirits yet. I should like to see him, give him my love and dont let him eat to many beans
Uncle Sands famely is well. thare has been a great change in their famley since you was here, Charles was married soon after you left, and shortly after Elenor was attacted with sickness and lived but a few weeks. Calib an Almira is keeping house on this side, Cousin Sally Andress died about three weeks agoe at Lewiston with the consumption
