Dear Lizzie
I imbrace a few moments this morning to write you a few lines to let you know that I am well & found Paul on the mending hand & I also found that Collins had ben sick with the fever he is at the fairfax semnary hospital in Va a bout 10 miles from this place I rode out yesterday to see him & found him quite smart he is out dores & will be able to joyne his regament in the corse of a few dayes weeks & probley Paul will be able to joyne his Company in a bout that time. I shal probley stay here untill they leave for the batle field / and I dont know but I shal go with them to look after them & to help Paul take care of his horses &c I want you to have Baileys fortagraf taken full size & send it to me in your letter & if you nead a little money let me know & I will try & borrow some from Paul & send it to you I want you to write as soon as you get this & let me know how you & the babe is & whare you are I have not seen Joe or Dave they are up in Marayland with the Regt Write soon & dont fail
