Roxbury May 14th 1863
My own dear Wife
I received yours in due time & was glad to hear from you & to hear you & my little presous one was well & all the rest of the friends This leaves me well & harty I am still to work in the gardin but I shal get through in a few dayes & then I shal be out of a job but I think their will be other jobs that I can get so that I shant have to be idle long. I have got a nomber of persons on the lookout for me & I think I shal find a good chance I want to get a chance whare I can have you come & stay with me & I mean to for I am so lonesom with out you & little Bailey I want you to / watch Bailey & not let him go near old Hann for she would poisen him as quick as she would a dog. So now you look out & keep him out of her way She is a perfict old devil so now look out & dont trust Bailey out of your sight. Oh how I should like to see you both to night but I hope in the course of a few months to have you with me I want you to be vary careful & not to say or do any thing to to that old (She devil) to make any fus with any of them & I think you had better go up to Cornish & stay with Almira after a while I dont want you to leave Nancies untill I can send you some money to settle all up so that they cant say you went off & could not pay your board I will will send you some as soon as / I get a nother job. I would send you five dollars now but I may want it so I will hold on to it a spel longer I will send you a dollar in small change & five postage stamps I received a letter from Joe & he sent me five dollars all he had I pitty Joe for he cant get any one to help him on the farm I ges they miss me some Oh if Bailey is stuffed up you had better get Docter Bradbury to call in some time when he is passing & leave him some powards dont let it run to long. I dont beleave but what he has got worms that makes him stuf up so let Nancy to docter him for the pin worms have you gave him that pink & se any yet
[further note] I hope what you wrote a bout your self is not so but if it should be I think you had better not do any thing for it might ruin your health or it mite kil you talk with Nancy and be vary careful for Mine & Baileys sake /
I am a goin to write to the deacon & see what he has got to offer
I must close now for it is getting bed time Write as soon as you get this & tel me all the news direct here untill I tel you not to
