At Home: Sunday Evening
Dear Darl
I am still here and am likely to stay for all of any ones comming after me I have sent word to Nancy also to your folks and none of them have been near me I think they dont want to see me very much so I shall govern myself accordingly I think I shall stay here until next Saturday or Tuesday. Then I shall go to Gt Fall I am going to write to Sabra to-night to see if they have got through painting They have no horses here that would be safe for me to ride with and Ill be hanged if I hire a horse to / go to see any of them Gussy & Bailey enjoy themselves finely The mosquitoes have bit Gussys face so that he is rather a hard looking boy He fell out of the door the other day and got quite of a bump: it bruised his forehead pretty badly, but it's almost well now I have to stay out doors a great deal with him for fear that he will get hurt in some way We are all rather a black looking set I can tell you. I think I shall go by the way of Gt Falls so I can get some huckleberrys for I dont get but a precious few here There is a plenty on the plains but I cant get them Oh Darl I miss my mother Oh so much Home is not what it was when she was here I know that Father misses her I know but he dont say much I will / tell you all about matters when I get home I want you to write just as soon as you get this for I dont believe I care to stay here more than one week longer I will explain when I get home You may think I am homesick but I am not We all get along first rate togeather and for Fathers sake I would like to stay five or six weeks But oh Darl I should die the death of old Mother Dumplings Ducks I received your letter and papers all right Glad to hear you all were well Send papers when you write I suppose if I go to Gt Falls you will not come down I do think if nothing happens I shall go by another week. I shall write to Sabra to-night to see what about it. Tell the Deacon to tie himself to the bed post if / he cant keep still By the way I think I have heard from that little boy that Mrs Rockwood told me of that was drowned I will try and investigate for you Tell the Deacon I have lost my Paddydom for our tribe of Hamiltons came from England Who knows but what I shall get my 50,000 yet I should'nt wonder if I belonge to the nobility Both of the children are asleep.
I cant write any more Love to all
This from Lizzie
P.S. I have'nt got out of money but you may send me two or three dollars if you have a mind to
