Capt:
Last night I recd the following telegram from Maj Gen Fitz Lee: "Order the companies of your command to concentrate at Altee's Station Hanover County at once."
You will therefore assemble your company at once & report at Altee's Station on the Va Central R.R. 12 or 15 miles from Richd. I propose to concentrate your co—Cos C. H. E & probably G at the Junction, & you will therefore inform me at that place the shortest possible time you can report there. Your men should have 3 or 4 days cooked rations & you should move along the line of the R & D R.R. that you may get forage I wrote you by mail this morning, but reckoning the uncertainty, I send this [torn] of [?]. Have as full a turn out as possible & bring all / the long range guns you can get.
