Benjamin F. Adams
Benjamin F. Adams was born around 1822 in Tennessee. He married a woman named Armagila in March 1848, and they had at least four children: Mary, born around 1853; Laura, born around 1858; Isabell, born around 1861; and Benjamin, born around 1863. By 1860, he was working as a ranger in Gatesville, Texas, and he owned $150 of real estate and $175 of personal property.
 
In May 1861, he petitioned Governor Edward Clark “for permission to raise [a company] to protect frontier from Indians.” He later enlisted in the Confederate army, and he mustered in as a private in the 2nd Texas Cavalry (Arizona Brigade). He died on June 29, 1864.
