Dear friends, I suppose that you will be glad to hear from me, so I will write a few lines to let you know that we are all well and hope that you are the same. We arrived in harrisburgh monday night about one oclock. we staid in the depot till morning and then went up to camp We were inspected and sworn in the day when we were inspected we had to strip start naked, every man.
I wish that you would send me some money when you write to me and then I will send you my likeness when we get our uniforms. we have some fun here, Every thing going on at once. there was a regiment left here the day that we came in camp. there is a good many men here. We have good fresh beef, potatoes, beans, pork, bread, crackers, coffee. fowler and myself went to dan clarks and got supper when we were in troy they were all well. / frank ashley had enlisted in a horse company, so we lost him. fletcher folks were all well, they wanted you to come down there. I cannot write much for it is bed time now. tell every body to write and I will as fast as I can.
