Dear Parents
I thought I would write you a few lines to let you know that I am well at present and all the rest of the Boys.
 
we have just signed the Pay Role but how do you suppose they are agoing to serv us.
 
we signed were mustered in the last of October for two months pay but they did not pay us and we were mustered again the last of December for two months / more pay. But that did not do anny good for they did not pay us then and we did not know as they intended to pay us or not But to night we have signed the Pay Role for how mutch do you suppose
 
Only two months pay and I owe the suttler four dollars of that our two months pay comes to 26 dollars
 
but I wil send home 15 of it
 
and that wil leave us three months pay due us after they pay us this time /
 
our box has not come yet the Expressman said that the Company was holdind for the box
 
I wish you would send me a list of what was in the box
 
that money that I send home in my next letter you can use to pay for the boots and the and the rest of the expense. and when I get the rest of my pay I will send it home this is about all I can think that is of anny impotan importance this time /
 
you mus all write as often as you can and I will answer them all allen to
