Dear Sister
I take my pen in hand to write these few lines to you hopeing to find you and your family in good health i am getting better every day but it will be a little while before i can go to my Regiment yet you mentioned in your last that your eldest girl was sick i am very sorry for it but i hope she will soon recover it is the Diarehae or Disentary that i have i had a purty good spell of it now for over three months i think i never will be as stout as i was before i am not sick to bed with it i can walk around / i will ask a furlough of of the Doctor but he will only give one for five days and that would be no use but i will try and get one any how let me know how is John getting along when you write
i have nothing much to write at present let me know how is Mary and Jane getting along and the family
